DR. CAVELL PHILLIPS - AMEN 820 WGGM
General Manager - Sunrise Jubilee
Monday - Friday: 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Amen 820, a Christian Radio Station in Richmond, VACavell is a Richmond native who graduated in 1977 from Huguenot High School participating all four years in basketball, football, & the jazz band. He attended the Columbia School of Broadcasting from 1978-79. After graduating, he began his career locally at WUST but returned to Richmond to persue a full-time position in broadcasting.

Since 1980, he has broadcast on WFTH 1590-AM, 92.1 FM WDYL, WPLZ Magic 99 FM, WSSV AM 1240, and serving as General Manager of AM 1240 WROU. Presently, he is the General Manager of WGGM. He hosts "Sunday Morning Gospel" on 99.3 & 105.7 FM WKJS from 6 a.m. to 12 noon and Co-hosts "Focus on Black Religious Life" on WTVR TV-6 every Sunday at 5 a.m.

On-Air Line-Up

9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Mid-day Ministries spread the word of God!

2 p.m. - 7 p.m. Take a Spiritual Flight Monday - Friday afternoons with Doc Christian.

7 p.m. - 12 a.m. Making a Joyful Noise

12 a.m. - 6 a.m. Midnight Gospel

5 p.m. - 6 p.m. Take a Ride on that Gospel Highway with Doc Christian every Sunday!

Cavellis an Ordained Minister with Faith Alive International Ministries, a Gospel M. C., and was inducted into the Richmond Broadcaster's Hall of Fame. He serves as a Board Member of Richmond Crimestoppers, as well as, Chesterfield Crimesolvers. Cavell takes pride in giving to the community that gave so much to him by involving himself in a multitude of community organizations & functions throughout the year.

Doc Christian, a Christian Radio personality in Richmond, VADoc enjoys playing keyboards and has recorded and worked with many groups and churches over the years including the late Rev. James Cleveland, Bill Moss & The Celestials (J. Moss dad) and the late Bro. Calvert Mc Nair, The Sensational Nightingales, Rev. Bonner & The Cross Bearers, Bro. Charlie & The Lambs of Joy, Bro. Moses Tucker, The King Sisters, Larry Bland & The Volunteer Choir of Richmond, The Modernaires of Petersburg, Rodney Williams & Doc Christian and Rev. Billy Lee with The Petersburg Youth Choir and Experience (just to name a few).

Doc has worked with many radio and TV stations over the years including WXEX-TV 8, WDYL-FM, WIKI, WSSV-AM1240, WPLZ-MAGIC 99FM, WKIE-1540AM, FAITH RADIO-RICHMOND, WPCE-1400AM NORFOLK, 1350AM-NORFOLK, 103-JAMZ NORFOLK, 107.7 FM, AND WKUS-KISS FM 105.3. Doc's voice can be heard on all sorts of commercials nationwide. Doc is also the production voice for recording artist "Norman Hutchins" and Front of the Line Ministries of Delaware. Doc has even voiced a Sony Playstation game trailer.

Doc enjoys listening to old recordings, fishing, drawing, playing video games and most of all he loves the LORD !!

Dorenda Coger - Sunrise Jubilee Co-host
Monday - Friday: 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Doc Christian, a Christian Radio personality in Richmond, VADorenda Coger, also known as “Dorenda Marie” s a native of Connecticut and received her start in radio in 1996 at FAITH Radio AM 1590 Richmond.  Dorenda served as the Morning Show Co-host for 3 years.  In January 1999 Dorenda began working at AM 1240 WGCV, which is now AMEN 820 WGGM as the Sunrise Jubilee Morning Show Co-host where she is still employed.

Dorenda is a member of First Union Baptist Church, South Richmond where she has served on the Music Ministry, Youth Praise Dance Ministry, Nominating Committee, Choir, Praise & Worship Team and Bible Study teacher.  She serves on the Board of Directors at the Manchester Family YMCA.  Dorenda is devoted to gospel music and can be found as an M.C. at various events throughout Central Virginia.  Dorenda enjoys singing, physical fitness, cooking, shopping, gardening, boating, interior decorating and spending time with her family. 

Dorenda is approaching her 15th radio anniversary and thanks God for the many opportunities that He is always providing.
